A: No, you do not need to have a personal connection in order to be selected for committee service. Members are appointed based on background and interest in a particular field.
A: If you are not a member please join. Committee members are expected to remain in good standing to retain their seat.
A: Serving on a committee offers the opportunity to build a network of valuable professional contacts and friendships within your practice or interest area. Participating on a committee in an area of law outside one’s professional practice can be a wonderful way to be involved in personal interests outside your day-to-day practice.
