Cultural Center
The primary objective for the building a cultural center would be to foster a common
source of identity to all those who have migrated here from India. Over the years,
the first generation community members have achieved coveted distinctions in various
disciplines and the next generation are already excelling academically and professionally.
Thus, the center would provide the next generation with adequate exposure to the
cultural and religious backdrop and a sense of pride in the priceless heritage of
India Along with to make positive difference in our community by providing social,
cultural, educational and professional programs and events. Cultural Center has
a unique offering of services and amenities that appeal to a large Indian community
base. The Asian Indian population in the United States grew 38%, almost 15 times
the national growth rate, between 2000-2005, according to the 2005 American Community
Survey, which provides a window to the U.S. population at the middle of the century.
In Michigan State Asian population is at 78,466 and growth rate is 44% from 2000
to 2005.
“If we can’t pull up the next generation, we have failed”
“It’s not only incumbent upon us to make sure that this legacy endures, it would
be shame if we did not do it”
